Arsenal reclaimed their place at the top of the Premier League table with a battling 1-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage, ending the hosts’ impressive four-match home winning streak.

With Manchester City’s earlier win tightening the title race, Mikel Arteta’s side responded with the resilience of champions.

Fulham started brightly, pressing high and forcing early chances through Tom Cairney and Harry Wilson, but Arsenal gradually grew into the contest.

Riccardo Calafiori thought he had opened the scoring with a fierce left-footed strike, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.

David Raya had to stay alert to keep out Josh King’s awkward cross-shot, while at the other end Bernd Leno denied Viktor Gyokeres as Arsenal found their rhythm.

Fulham’s evening suffered a setback just before the break when defender Joachim Andersen limped off injured.

The Gunners finally made the breakthrough on the hour mark from one of their trademark set pieces.

Bukayo Saka’s corner was flicked on by Gabriel, and Leandro Trossard arrived at the far post to tap home his third goal of the season.

Referee Anthony Taylor later awarded a penalty for a foul on Saka, but the decision was overturned after VAR intervention.

Arsenal saw out the final stages with maturity, recording a fifth clean sheet in seven league games and extending their excellent away run to one defeat in 18 matches.

The result sends Arsenal back above Manchester City and keeps them two points clear at the summit ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United.

Fulham, meanwhile, slip to 14th after suffering their third straight defeat, their worst run since December 2023.Arsenal reclaimed their place at the top of the Premier League table with a battling 1-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage, ending the hosts’ impressive four-match home winning streak.
