Juventus moved into the Coppa Italia quarter-finals after a straightforward 2-0 win over Udinese in Turin, settled by an early own goal and a second-half penalty.
In a match short on clear chances, Juventus took the lead after 23 minutes when Udinese’s 17-year-old defender Matteo Palma stretched to cut out Weston McKennie’s cross but inadvertently diverted the ball past his own goalkeeper.
Udinese offered little in response, and their task became harder after the break when Palma was penalised for fouling McKennie in the box.
Manuel Locatelli stepped up to convert the spot-kick and seal the result.
The victory opens the round of 16, with Napoli and Inter Milan hosting their ties on Wednesday.
Bologna welcome Parma on Thursday before Serie A leaders AC Milan visit Lazio. Roma’s clash with Torino rounds off the stage on January 13.
