Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi celebrated Lautaro Martinez’s return to form after the Argentine striker ended his scoring drought in a 3-0 victory over Cagliari, keeping the Nerazzurri at the summit of Serie A.
Martinez, who hadn’t scored since November 3rd, silenced critics with a stunning 71st-minute volley, doubling Inter’s lead after Alessandro Bastoni’s early header. Hakan Calhanoglu sealed the deal with a penalty, as Inter notched their fifth consecutive away win.
Inzaghi expressed pride in Martinez’s resilience during the dry spell.
“We told him to stay calm, as his work always benefits the team. Lautaro is never a problem for Inter, only a priceless asset,” Inzaghi told DAZN.
The coach also praised the squad’s relentless set-piece execution, crediting players like Federico Dimarco and Kristjan Asllani for their vital roles.
Looking ahead, Inzaghi’s sights are firmly set on more silverware. With Inter eyeing a 21st Scudetto and gearing up for a potential fourth straight Supercoppa Italiana title in Saudi Arabia, the manager’s message was clear: “We’re Inter. Sacrifice is our mantra, and every player is ready to fight for every minute.”
