Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has completed a loan move to Crystal Palace for the remainder of the season, both clubs confirmed on Monday.
The 28-year-old, who has struggled for game time under Enzo Maresca, has made just one appearance for Chelsea this season—a League Cup victory over Barrow in September.
Chilwell, who won the Premier League with Leicester City in 2016, has featured in 107 games for Chelsea since arriving in 2020, playing a key role in their Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup triumphs.
“I’m very excited to be here. Crystal Palace are a club going in a great direction, and the way the team has been playing made this decision easy,” Chilwell said in a statement.
Despite Maresca previously indicating that Chilwell was available for a permanent transfer, the left-back will now look to revive his season at Selhurst Park.
Palace, currently 12th in the Premier League, head into their FA Cup fourth-round clash against Doncaster after a 2-0 league win over Manchester United.
