Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was full of praise for his team after their impressive 3-2 comeback victory against Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League knockout tie.
The Spanish giants secured their first-ever win at the Etihad Stadium, showing resilience after falling behind twice.
City took the lead through Erling Haaland’s double, but Real responded with goals from Kylian Mbappe and Brahim Diaz before Jude Bellingham struck a dramatic late winner.
Ancelotti highlighted his team’s attacking intent, noting their 20 shots compared to City’s 11, and commended their defensive discipline and teamwork.
The Italian tactician, however, cautioned against overconfidence heading into the second leg.
“The result can be tricky. We cannot afford to relax,” he said, urging his squad to maintain their focus, intensity, and determination. “Now is when the season truly begins.”
