Liverpool’s Champions League exit was a tough blow, but goalkeeper Alisson insists the team must swiftly refocus with the League Cup final against Newcastle United looming on Sunday.

Arne Slot’s side fell to Paris Saint-Germain in a dramatic penalty shootout at Anfield, cutting short their European campaign despite topping the new Champions League group phase.

The defeat left Mohamed Salah in tears, but Liverpool have little time to dwell on disappointment.

“It’s tough to take because we know we could do more, but we have no time to complain – we have a final to play,” Alisson said. “We are here to win all the trophies we can.”

Liverpool remain firm favourites to secure the Premier League title, holding a 15-point lead over Arsenal with nine games left.

However, Sunday’s final carries high stakes, as Newcastle chase their first major trophy in 70 years.

Captain Virgil van Dijk is ready for the challenge. “It’s chin up and onto the next. We have to be at our best against a very good Newcastle side. I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.
