BARCELONA EDGE CELTA TO EXTEND LEAD AT THE TOP.
Barcelona secured a narrow 1-0 win over Celta Vigo at Camp Nou, restoring their
nine-point lead at the top of LaLiga with a 17 th home victory of the season.
Both sides started brightly, trading early chances, but clear openings remained
scarce as Celta’s high energy disrupted Barça’s rhythm. The hosts struggled to test
the goalkeeper for much of the first half.
The breakthrough came when Lamine Yamal won and converted a penalty, netting
his 16th league goal before being forced off shortly after.
Celta continued to press after the break, while Barça had a second goal ruled out
following VAR review after Ferran Torres struck a superb volley.
Despite late pressure from the visitors, Barcelona held firm to extend their winning
streak to eight league games, while Celta remain seventh after just a second defeat
in 13 away matches.
