The New York Knicks stormed into the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999 after a
dominant 130-93 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, completing a 4-0 sweep in the
Eastern Conference Finals.
It extends New York’s playoff winning streak to 11 games and sets up a Finals
showdown starting June 3, as they await the winner between the Oklahoma City
Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs, with that series tied 2-2.
Karl-Anthony Towns starred with 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson
added 15 points and was named series MVP after a consistent run.
Landry Shamet also impressed with 16 points off the bench as the Knicks
overwhelmed Cleveland with pace, defence, and shooting.
Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 31 points in a losing effort.
Knicks coach Mike Brown praised his side’s unity, while the players stressed belief
and sacrifice as the foundation of their historic run.
