OSULA DOUBLE DEEPENS WEST HAM RELEGATION FEARS.
William Osula scored twice as Newcastle United F.C. boosted West Ham United
F.C.’s relegation worries with a commanding 3-1 victory at St James’ Park.
The Magpies took the lead inside the opening 15 minutes when Nick Woltemade
turned home a cross from Harvey Barnes.
Osula then doubled Newcastle’s advantage after a flowing attacking move carved
open the visitors’ defence before the Danish forward grabbed his second after the
break following another costly West Ham error.
Taty Castellanos pulled one back with an audacious long-range finish after collecting
a pass from goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, but the Hammers could not complete a
comeback.
The defeat leaves West Ham on the brink of relegation, with Tottenham Hotspur F.C.
able to condemn them to the Championship with victory over Chelsea F.C. on
Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Newcastle extended their unbeaten run to three matches as they kept
alive slim hopes of European qualification.
