PALACE PROGRESS DESPITE DEFEAT TO REACH EUROPEAN SEMI-FINALS.

Crystal Palace advanced to the Europa Conference League semi-finals despite a 2-1
defeat to Fiorentina, sealing a 4-2 aggregate victory.
Palace extended their advantage early on through Ismaïla Sarr’s header before
Fiorentina responded with goals from Albert Gudmundsson and Cher Ndour to win
on the night.
The Italian side pushed for a comeback but was unable to find the goals needed, as
Palace held firm in the closing stages.
The result sends Palace into the semi-finals of a major European competition for the
first time, where they will face Shakhtar Donetsk.
