NO MERCY: DEMBELE WARNS CHELSEA AS PSG TARGET QUARTER-FINALSPOT.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele has urged the European
champions to stay ruthless ahead of their Champions League last-16 second leg
against Chelsea.
PSG head to Stamford Bridge with a commanding 5-2 advantage from the first leg,
but Dembele insists there will be no change in approach.
“As I said after the first leg, our mentality is to win. We cannot just remain defensive.
We need to win,” he said. “We need to remain extremely focused… our mentality will
not change.”
The French star pointed to last season’s scare against Aston Villa as a reminder of
the dangers of complacency, adding, “We may suffer a little bit… we’re three goals
ahead, but our mentality has not changed.”
Manager Luis Enrique echoed the warning, stressing that Chelsea remains a threat
despite the deficit.
“It’s a clear example of what a football match could become,” he said. “It’s our goal
to win the match, but we know we will have complicated moments.”
PSG are widely expected to progress, but both player and coach are demanding a
sharp, attacking display to finish the job.
