ISAK RETURNS TO BOOST LIVERPOOL AHEAD OF PSG CLASH.
Alexander Isak has been included in Liverpool’s squad for Wednesday’s Champions
League quarter-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain, marking his return from a
lengthy injury layoff.
The Swedish striker has been sidelined for 15 weeks after suffering an ankle injury,
including a fibula fracture, during a challenge in a match against Tottenham in
December.
Liverpool confirmed his return, stating that Isak travelled with the squad to Paris after
resuming full training with his teammates.
His comeback comes as a timely boost for Arne Slot’s side, who have struggled in
recent weeks, including a heavy FA Cup defeat to Manchester City.
Isak has made just 16 appearances since his move from Newcastle last year due to
persistent fitness issues, but his return could provide a much-needed lift as Liverpool
look to revive their season.
The Champions League remains their last chance of silverware, with the Reds also
seeking revenge after being knocked out by PSG on penalties in last season’s
competition.
