The United States claimed their second United Cup title in three years on Sunday, defeating Poland 2-0 in the final in Sydney.

Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz delivered stellar performances in their singles matches to secure the victory in the mixed-team tournament.

Fritz edged Hubert Hurkacz in a thrilling three-set battle, winning 6-4, 5-7, 7-6, while Gauff outplayed Iga Swiatek with a confident 6-4, 6-4 win earlier in the day.

The $10 million event, featuring 18 nations, serves as a key warm-up for the Australian Open. With the victory, the United States celebrated their second title after also triumphing in the inaugural edition in 2023.

Fritz praised his team for their cohesion and resilience throughout the tournament. “The margins were incredibly small, and Poland was a tough opponent,” he said. “Our team vibes were amazing, and that really made the difference.”

Gauff maintained her unbeaten singles record in the tournament, showcasing her top form ahead of the year’s first Grand Slam. “I have the belief that when I play good tennis, I’m hard to beat,” Gauff said after her win.

Poland, runners-up for a second consecutive year, fought valiantly but fell short against the dominant Americans, who celebrated their title with exuberance at the Ken Rosewall Arena.
