LATE POLAND STRIKE DENIES SUPER EAGLES IN FRIENDLY DRAW.
The Super Eagles were left frustrated after a stoppage-time equaliser saw them held
to a 2–2 draw by Poland in a dramatic international friendly on Wednesday.
Terem Moffi put Nigeria in front in the 23rd minute after finishing a flowing attacking
move, giving the visitors a deserved halftime lead.
Poland responded quickly after the restart, with Potulski levelling just seconds into
the second half to swing momentum back towards the hosts.
Nigeria regained control in the 77 th minute when Paul Onuachu calmly converted
from the penalty spot to restore the advantage.
But just as victory looked sealed, Wiśniewski struck in the 95th minute to rescue a
draw for Poland and deny the Super Eagles’ late celebrations.
Both sides will take positives from a competitive encounter that remained finely
balanced until the final whistle.
