Ghana has dismissed head coach Otto Addo with just 72 days to the 2026 World
Cup, following a string of disappointing results.
The Ghana Football Association confirmed the decision shortly after a 2-1 defeat to
Germany in Stuttgart, days after a heavy 5-1 loss in Austria.
“The GFA has parted ways with the Head Coach… effective immediately,” the
statement read.
Addo, appointed in March 2024, struggled to deliver consistency, failing to qualify for
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, despite a squad featuring Premier League talents
Antoine Semenyo and Mohammed Kudus.
He leaves with eight wins and nine defeats in 22 matches, a record that ultimately
cost him his job.
Ghana now faces a race against time to appoint a replacement ahead of the World
Cup in North America, where they are drawn in a tough Group L alongside Croatia,
England and Panama.
