Shai Gilgeous-Alexander starred with 30 points and nine assists as the defending
NBA champions Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs 122-113 to
level the Western Conference finals at 1-1.

After being contained in game one, the back-to-back MVP responded in style as
Oklahoma City bounced back on home court before the series shifts to San Antonio
for games three and four.

“The guys brought it tonight, knowing what it would have meant if we lost this one.”
Gilgeous-Alexander said. “We brought the energy from the jump.”

The Thunder built an 11-point halftime lead and held off a Spurs rally led by Stephon
Castle, while Oklahoma City’s defence heavily pressured Victor Wembanyama after his dominant display in game one.

“We got a W, it’s all you can ask for,” Gilgeous-Alexander added. “Now we’ve got to go
on the road against a really good team and go get one.”

Wembanyama admitted the Spurs failed to execute defensively, saying, “We worked
on it, we just didn’t apply as much.”

The winner of the series will advance to the NBA Finals against either the New York
Knicks or Cleveland Cavaliers.
