GUARDIOLA SET TO LEAVE MANCHESTER CITY.
Pep Guardiola is reportedly expected to step down as Manchester City manager at
the end of the season, bringing an end to his hugely successful 10-year spell at the
club.
According to reports from the BBC, The Athletic, and Daily Mail, City’s clash against
Aston Villa this weekend is likely to be Guardiola’s final game in charge, with players
and staff understood to be aware of the situation.
The Spaniard’s future has been the subject of speculation throughout the campaign
despite still having a year left on his contract.
Guardiola has transformed City since arriving in 2016, winning multiple Premier
League titles, domestic cups, and the UEFA Champions League during one of the
most dominant eras in English football history.
Former City assistant Enzo Maresca is reportedly the leading candidate to replace
him. The Italian previously worked under Guardiola before enjoying successful spells
with Leicester City and Chelsea.
