PORTO CLINCH PORTUGUESE TITLE AFTER WIN OVER ALVERCA.
FC Porto were crowned Portuguese champions after a 1-0 victory over F.C. Alverca
secured the title with two games remaining.
Jan Bednarek scored the decisive goal with a towering first-half header, while
second-placed SL Benfica were held to a 2-2 draw by F.C. Famalicão earlier in the
day.
The triumph marks Porto’s first league title since 2022 and a dream debut season for
coach Francesco Farioli, who claimed the first trophy of his managerial career.
“I want to give my congratulations to FC Porto for being deserving champions,” said
Benfica boss José Mourinho after his side dropped points.
