PSG WIN NINE-GOAL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CLASSIC AGAINST BAYERN.
Holders Paris Saint-Germain claimed a stunning 5-4 victory over Bayern Munich in a
breathtaking Champions League semi-final first leg, setting a new record for the
highest-scoring clash at this stage.
The visitors struck first when Harry Kane converted from the spot after a foul on Luis
Diaz, extending his remarkable scoring run in the competition.
PSG responded through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia before Joao Neves headed them in
front, only for Michael Olise to level before the break.
A dramatic first half ended with Ousmane Dembele converting a penalty to restore
PSG’s lead, and the hosts carried that momentum into the second period.
Kvaratskhelia added his second before Dembele struck again to make it 5-2, leaving
Bayern with a mountain to climb.
To their credit, Bayern fought back as Dayot Upamecano and Diaz both found the
net to reduce the deficit, but PSG held firm to secure a narrow advantage ahead of
the return leg.
The result ended a run of five straight defeats for PSG in this fixture and halted
Bayern’s nine-game winning streak setting up a finely poised second leg in Munich.
