SAKA FIRES ARSENAL INTO FIRST CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL IN 20 YEARS.
Arsenal reached their first UEFA Champions League final since 2006 after a 2-1
aggregate win over Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium.
With the tie level after the first leg, Bukayo Saka struck just before half-time, finishing
from close range after Jan Oblak parried Leandro Trossard’s effort following a sharp
move involving Viktor Gyokeres.
Atletico threatened, but Declan Rice’s timely tackle denied Giuliano Simeone before
Gabriel made a crucial second-half recovery after the forward rounded David Raya.
Gyokeres missed a late chance to extend the lead, but Arsenal held on to secure
their place in the final, where they will face either Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-
Germain in Budapest on May 30.
