SUPER FALCONS HOLD OFF SENEGAL TO CONTINUE WAFCON PREPARATIONS.
The Super Falcons began their build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations
with a 2-1 friendly win over Senegal at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne on
Friday.
Asisat Oshoala opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 32 nd minute after
Nigeria dominated early proceedings, before Toni Payne doubled the lead just before
half-time from close range.
Nigeria controlled large spells of the contest, with Oshoala and Funmilayo Ijamilusi
both going close before the breakthrough, while debutant goalkeeper Comfort
Erhabor featured in the second half.
Senegal improved after the break and pulled one back late on through Sokhna
Nogaye, but the Super Falcons held firm to secure victory.
The result continues Nigeria’s strong preparations as they defend their Women’s
Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco this July.
