Manchester City claimed top spot in Group G at the FIFA Club World Cup with a 5-2 win over Juventus, recording their first victory over the Italian side since 1976.
Despite Pep Guardiola making widespread changes, City started fast in Orlando, taking the lead inside 10 minutes through Jeremy Doku after a precise pass from Rayan Ait Nouri.
Juventus quickly levelled when Teun Koopmeiners punished Ederson’s loose pass, but City regained the lead through an own goal from Pierre Kalulu.
City piled on pressure before the break and stretched their advantage in the second half when Matheus Nunes set up substitute Erling Haaland for an easy finish.
Juventus missed chances to respond, with Dusan Vlahovic denied one-on-one by Ederson, before Phil Foden added City’s fourth.
Savinho then scored a spectacular fifth from distance, while Vlahovic grabbed a late consolation for Juve.
The result means City stay in Orlando for the last 16 and will face the Group H runners-up, while Juventus are set to meet Group H winners, Real Madrid.
