Dembele Double Fires PSG to Ligue 1 Summit
Ousmane Dembele scored twice as Paris Saint-Germain responded to their Coupe de France setback with a convincing 3-0 win over Lille, moving two points clear at the top of Ligue 1.
The French champions settled early nerves at the Parc des Princes when Dembele opened the scoring in the 13th minute, finishing from the edge of the box after being picked out by Vitinha.
Lille had threatened through Olivier Giroud, who struck the bar, but PSG gradually took control.
Dembele struck again after the break with a moment of individual brilliance, weaving past defenders before chipping goalkeeper Berke Ozer to double the lead.
Bradley Barcola wrapped up the points in stoppage time as Lille slipped to a third straight defeat in all competitions.
The win restores confidence for Luis Enrique’s side after their midweek cup exit, while Lille’s loss dents their push for European qualification.
