PSG REACH THE THIRD CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL AFTER EDGING BAYERN.
Paris Saint-Germain became the first French club to reach three UEFA Champions
League finals after a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich secured a 6-5 aggregate semi-
final victory.
Holding a narrow advantage from the first leg, PSG struck early in Munich when
Ousmane Dembele finished clinically after being set up by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in
the third minute.
Bayern pushed for a response, with Manuel Neuer and Matvey Safonov both
producing important saves in an entertaining contest, while Vincent Kompany’s side
also saw penalty appeals waved away.
Luis Enrique’s men remained disciplined defensively and carried a threat on the
counter-attack throughout the second half, frustrating the hosts for long periods.
Harry Kane grabbed a late equaliser for Bayern with a powerful finish, but it proved
only a consolation as PSG booked a showdown with Arsenal in Budapest.
“Of course, we have brilliant memories here,” Luis Enrique had said before the
game, and his side once again delivered on the big stage in Munich.
