ARSENAL CROWNED PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS AFTER CITY SLIP.
Arsenal have been crowned Premier League champions for the first time since 2004
after Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Bournemouth mathematically ended the
title race.
Mikel Arteta’s side secured their 14th English top-flight title with a game to spare,
ending a 22-year wait to reclaim the league crown.
After finishing as runners-up in each of the last two seasons, Arsenal finally completed
the job this campaign with a run consistently, built on strong defending and attacking
efficiency and dominance from set-pieces.
Key signings, including Eberechi Eze, Martin Zubimendi, and Viktor Gyokeres, all
played major roles during the title-winning season as the Gunners maintained their
form throughout the run-in.
The triumph also marks a major milestone for Arteta, who took charge in 2019 with
Arsenal sitting 10th in the table. The Spaniard now joins an elite group of managers to
win the English top-flight title with the North London club.
Arsenal will now turn its attention to the UEFA Champions League final as it
look to complete a memorable season with a historic double.
