RANGERS EDGE CLOSER TO NPFL TITLE WITH BAYELSA WIN.
Enugu Rangers tightened their grip on the Nigeria Premier Football League title race
with a 2-0 away win over Bayelsa United F.C.
Chidiebere Nwobodo opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a composed finish,
before Godwin Obaje sealed the victory in the 85th minute, firing home his 12th goal of
the season.
Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu urged focus despite the result, saying: “We must remain
concentrated. The job is not done yet.”
Rangers, who sit top with 62 points, relied on a strong defensive display in the
second half to secure a crucial first away win since January, staying just ahead of
Rivers United F.C. in the title race.
