Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo produced a moment of pure instinct to
settle the FA Cup final, firing the Cityzens to a 1-0 win over Chelsea F.C. at Wembley
and etching his name into history.

The Ghana international struck the only goal of the final in a tightly contested
encounter, reacting quickly in a congested area to cushion a back-to-goal finish into
the bottom corner when space and time were at a premium.

Semenyo later admitted it was instinctive, saying: “It was behind me, so that was the
only thing I could do. Luckily, it went in.”

The strike made him the first Ghanaian player ever to score in an FA Cup final and
also took him to 20 goals for the season, breaking a 30-year national record
previously held by Tony Yeboah, who scored 19 goals in the 1995/96 campaign.

“It’s been hard work. I’m learning a lot with top pros and a top coach,” Semenyo
added, reflecting on his rise since joining City.

The forward also praised manager Pep Guardiola, crediting him for his development
as City added another trophy under his reign.

The win marks Guardiola’s 20 th trophy in charge of City and keeps them on course
for a possible domestic treble as attention turns quickly to their next Premier League
fixture against Bournemouth.
