Wolverhampton Wanderers have been relegated from the Premier League after
West Ham United played out a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.
The result leaves Wolves on 17 points, 16 adrift of safety with just five games
remaining, confirming their return to the Championship after eight years in the top
flight.
It marks their first relegation since 2012, bringing an end to a period that once saw
them finish seventh twice and reached a Europa League semi-final following promotion
in 2018.
A disastrous start to the season, which included five straight defeats and no wins in
their first 19 matches proved too much to recover from, despite a slight improvement
after Rob Edwards replaced Vítor Pereira.
Elsewhere, the result also dents survival hopes for Tottenham Hotspur, who remain
in the relegation battle alongside Nottingham Forest, with five matches to play.
