EAGLES HELD BY JORDAN AS IWOBI RED OVERSHADOWS FERNANDEZ MILESTONE.
Nigeria was forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Jordan despite leading, with Alex
Iwobi’s late red card soured the result in Antalya.
The Super Eagles responded well after falling behind to Mousa Tamari, as Moses
Simon equalised before Emmanuel Fernandez marked his first start with a
composed finish to give Nigeria a 2-1 half-time lead.
Eric Chelle’s side looked in control, but the game turned in the second half following
an injury to Francis Uzoho and a late Jordan equaliser from Mohammad Al-Daoud.
Nigeria pushed for a winner but lacked a cutting edge, and the night ended poorly
when Iwobi was sent off for violent conduct in stoppage time.
