LUIS ENRIQUE: ‘NO TEAM BETTER THAN PSG’ AHEAD OF BAYERN CLASH.
Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has boldly claimed his side can match
anyone in Europe ahead of their Champions League semi-final showdown with
Bayern Munich.
The defending champions face one of the continent’s most consistent sides, with
both teams boasting elite attacking records after prolific runs through the knockout
stages.
“Bayern are a bit ahead of us because they have only lost two games,” Luis Enrique
admitted. “But if we speak about what we have shown as a team, we’re right up
there.
“And no team is better than us.”
PSG arrive with confidence after another strong European campaign, having scored
freely in the knockout rounds, while also maintaining their domestic dominance.
“It’s not just about attacking statistics,” he added. “If you look at the defensive ones
too, these are the best teams in Europe.”
The Spaniard acknowledged Bayern’s threat, particularly in wide areas, but insisted
PSG will not abandon its identity.
“We know how difficult it will be, and we have to defend well,” he said. “But if we
want to win, our full-backs have to attack more than they defend.”
Having lifted the trophy last season, PSG is now chasing back-to-back titles, driven
by a renewed hunger.
“The first run was a relief… now it’s a different source of motivation,” Luis Enrique
said. “We made history, and now we’re hungry for more.”
With both sides in dominant domestic form, the semi-final promises a high-quality,
finely balanced encounter.
