The 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League title race is set for a thrilling finish,
with Enugu Rangers and Rivers United separated by just one point heading into the
final two games of the season.

Eight-time champions Rangers lead the table with 62 points after a crucial 2-0 win
over Bayelsa United, while Rivers United remain close behind on 61, following a
dominant 3-0 victory over Abia Warriors.

Rivers coach Finidi George believes the race will go down to the final day.

“Everything is possible till the last day,” Finidi said. “We have to bring our A game
again because a lot is at stake.”

Rangers boss Fidelis Ilechukwu has also urged his players to remain focused as the
Flying Antelopes chase what would be a ninth league title.

Ikorodu City and Shooting Stars remain mathematically in contention, although both
sides require victories in their remaining matches and slip-ups from the top two to
keep their fading hopes alive.
